Gold standard surgeries
It completely cures prostate cancer at the early stages.
Radical prostatectomy means complete removal of the tumor tissue along with the affected organ. It is considered the «gold standard» for treating prostate cancer, it stops the oncological process at the early stages.
Unlike alternative focal therapy (cryoablation, radiofrequency ablation, irreversible electroporation and ultrasound therapy), radical prostatectomy does not involve the destruction, but rather it means the removal of the tumor mass from the body.
Approaches for radical prostatectomy
There are open, laparoscopic and robot-assisted approaches. It provides a similar functional and oncological result if it is performed by experienced surgeon. However, laparoscopic and robot-assisted approaches are characterized by less blood loss, a short period of postoperative recovery, and better suture quality.
Nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy
The main advantage of the nerve-sparing technique is that it helps to avoid erectile dysfunction and urinary incontinence - the likely side effects of radical prostatectomy that a patient can experience for life.
The essence of the method is a preserving the neurovascular bundles feeding the penis, as well as providing relaxation and contraction of the urethral sphincter. This operation is more complicated, it requires the skills of high-precision surgery and is possible with special low impact instruments.
It is performed for a low risk prostate cancer (PSA level is less than 10 - 20 ng/ml, cancer cell differentiation is not more than 6 - 7 Gleason, the tumor is precisely limited by the prostate gland).
Robot-assisted or laparoscopic approaches are generally used. Retropubic approach is less often. All of them have a comparable functional and oncological result.
Sexual function is restored in 4-12 months. Firstly spontaneous, then motivated erections appear. The probability of a favorable outcome in men up to 50 years is more than 90 percent, up to 60 years - 75 percent, up to 70 years - 57 percent, over 70 years - 25 percent.
Surgical steps of radical prostactomy
The operation takes 2 - 3 hours. The doctor removes the prostate, adjacent seminal vesicles and part of the deferent duct. If there is reason to believe the spread of cancer to the pelvic lymph nodes, it is also removed.
After elimination of the tumor lesion, an anastomosis is formed — the ends of the urethra and the bladder neck are stitched with special suture. A catheter is inserted into the urethra for urine outflow while the wound heals (7 - 12 days).
Cost of radical prostatectomy
Treatment is free in the Department of Urology at Sechenov University. Open and laparoscopic prostatectomy are presented through policy of obligatory medical insurance, robot-assisted - according to federal quota.
Sometimes there are some difficulties with obtaining a federal quota. In this case, patients, who want to undergo robotic surgery, are forced to use paid medical services.
We carry out OPUR surgery for non-Russian citizens through paid medical services only.
Cost of open prostatectomy: 44 thousands rubles.
Cost of laparoscopic prostatectomy: 80 –130 thousands rubles.
Cost of da Vinci robot-assisted prostatectomy: 330 – 380 thousands rubles.
In comparison with other Russian and foreign clinics, our prices are significantly lower.
Safe surgical treatment for the prolapse of the uterus, vagina and bladder restores normal urination and sex life
OPUR is a six-arm mesh implant that is used to restore the pelvic anatomy. Polypropylene mesh holds the bladder like a hammock, as a result, the uterus takes the correct physiological position.
The method was developed by Dr. Emmanuel Delorm - a French scientist, the largest expert in the treatment of urinary incontinence and prolapse of the genital organs in women.
OPUR is used for significant prolapse, when the bladder and uterus have descended to the genital slit and below
The effect is noticeable immediately after surgery. The sensation of a foreign body in the vagina disappears, urination occurs without straining. Over time, wounds and erosion associated with significant prolapse of the genitals heal. The pelvic organs maintain a normal position throughout life.
OPUR is the only option for surgical treatment of prolapse of the uterus and vagina in elderly women
It is related with a significant deterioration of the ligaments, muscles and tissues of the vagina, which are not able to hold the uterus and bladder in a natural position.
The stitch heals quickly and is not visible. The operation takes less than an hour
The grid is installed through a three-centimeter incision on the front wall of the vagina and six punctures, four of which are on the inner side of the thighs, and two - on the side of the gluteal area.
At the end, a catheter is installed to remove urine, a gauze pad is placed that are removed the next day. The patient returns home in two days, her usual physical activity is possible in two weeks.
One to three weeks before the operation, hormone preparations are prescribed, which the patient takes after the operation for a long time, sometimes for life. Female sex hormones improve tissue regeneration and the condition of the mucous membranes of the vagina, bladder and uterus. It also increases muscle tone and psycho-emotional state.
OPUR exceeds alternative treatment options for pelvic organ prolapse
Alternative methods are a substitution with one’s own tissues (colporrhaphy) or a four-arm transvaginal mesh prosthesis.
Colporrhaphy is relatively effective only in young women. Due to the deterioration of the musculoskeletal system and vaginal tissues, surgery is repeated in 4 out of 10 patients.
Four-arm prostheses can provoke erosion of the vagina, as a result, of insufficient tension and uneven melting of the mesh; it is not recommended for combined prolapse (simultaneous omission of the uterus and bladder).
OPUR has no significant drawbacks.
Eight points of fixation and six sleeves reliably straighten and hold the mesh. The method is used at any age of the patient. The risk of re-omission of the pelvic organs is less than two percent.
Cost of OPUR in women with pelvic organ prolapse
We carry out OPUR for Russian citizens free due to high-tech assistance channel. Our doctors will help you fill out the necessary documents. The cost of OPUR surgery through paid medical services, including non-Russian citizens, is around 130 thousands rubles.
In our clinic OPUR is performed by professor Mikhail Enikeev - a follower of Emmanuel Delorm.
The operation helps to maintain potency and normal urination
Robot-assisted prostatectomy is especially effective in the early stages of the cancer process: PSA level ≤ 20 ng/ml, Gleason score ≤ 7. It is possible in case of patient who has no contraindications to anesthesia due to concomitant diseases.
Sexual function is restored within a few months, but in some cases during the year, it depends on the physical features of the patient and the size of the tumor. The probability of saving potency in men up to 50 years is more than 90 percent, up to 60 years - 75 percent, up to 70 years - 57 percent, and over 70 years is 25 - 50 percent.
Rate of normal urine retention immediately after surgery is 97%
Involuntary urine leakage after other operations occurs in 85% of patients and can last up to 9 months. It is an extremely unpleasant side effect of prostate cancer treatment, urological pads or diapers have to be worn. Due to coughing, running or physical effort, urine leakage may persist throughout life - stress urinary incontinence.
Incontinence occurs due to dissection of the ligament apparatus of the pelvis. This dissection is necessary for access to the dorsal venous complex covering prostate. It is tied up or stitched with a surgical suture to avoid bleeding in case of damage.
The fascia- and nerve-sparing method that we use allows not to injury the dorsal venous complex. The surgeon gently dislocates the fascia and ligaments, makes a 2x3 cm «window» in the pubic-vesicular ligaments and heals the prostate. Then «the window closes» with stitching fragments of ligaments.
A robotic system provides insurance against bleeding, it allows to quickly change the abdominal pressure and stop the bleeding.
Da Vinci surgery has advantages in compare with other methods
Importantly, the disease goes away immediately. Alternative ablative technologies (ultrasound ablation, irreversible electroporation, cryoablation) do not guarantee the complete destruction of tumor cells.
After an unsuccessful ablative operation, performing a salvage prostatectomy is much more difficult.
Nerve-sparing radical prostatectomy with the preservation of fascia eliminates damage of the pelvic floor muscles with branches of the genital nerve located in it and (or) an additional sexual artery feeding the cavernous tissues of the penis. It means that the preservation of potency is more likely than a traditional or nerve- sparing surgery without preserving the fascia.
Robot-assisted surgery performs unattainable with other methods accuracy
It is possible to penetrate all hard-to-reach places. Manipulators rotate 360 degrees in any plane. 3D imaging with a tenfold magnification helps to see perfectly in the depth of the wound. Electronic filters out unpredictable movements and tremors of the human hand.
The doctor sees the operating field on the monitor and controls the robot through the joystick. One robotic hand holds a video camera, the other three - perform manipulations with tissues.
The prostate is separated and evacuated with an endoscopic instrument with a diameter less than a pencil. Then the bladder is stitched with the urethra. The operation time is a little bit more than two hours. Discharged after 2-3 days is performed, exercise is allowed in two to three weeks after surgery.
During robot-assisted prostatectomy, laparoscopic approach is used, which has, in comparison with open surgery, the following advantages:
- • several punctures instead of a cavity incision;
- • minimal blood loss and pain;
- • the patient returns quickly to daily life;
- • there is no large postoperative scar;
- • there is no necessity in a bandage after surgery.
Cost of da Vinci robot-assisted prostatectomy in Moscow
We carry out a robot-assisted surgery for Russian citizens free due to a federal quota. Non-Russian citizens can be treated through paid medical services. Including hospitalization stay, anesthesia, intensive therapy, the cost of robot-assisted prostatectomy is around 330-380 thousand rubles. It is significantly lower than in other Russian and foreign urological centers.
Annual over a thousand patients choose the Department of Urology at Sechenov University for the treatment of prostate cancer.
After installing the implant, it is possible to have sexual intercourse without restrictions in time and the number of incidents of sexual intercourse
The penile implant provides a penile rigidity necessary for sexual intercourse. It is established in the case when a first-line therapy (medical treatment, for example, viagra) and a second-line therapy (injections of vasoactive drugs, for example, caverject) did not produce the desired result. The decision to install the implant is performed when erectile dysfunction is confirmed due to ultrasound of the penis with provocative breakdown.
Which type of penile implant is right for you?
There are inflatable, semi-rigid and rigid implants. Inflatable penile prosthesis are the most common type of penile implant used, because it is comfortable, naturally look and have no side effects. The two soft cylinders are inserted in the cavernous bodies and connected by tubes with a pump and a reservoir. When you pump the sterile water from the reservoir into the cylinders, it is solid like a natural erection.
Inflatable penile prosthesis can have two- or three pieces. In the latter one, a reservoir and a pump are placed in the scrotum. In the case of three-piece, one reservoir is placed behind the pubis, and the injection pump - in the scrotum.
A good mechanical strength is performed with semi-rigid implants, however it is uncomfortable in everyday life. There is a risk of perforation and migration of the prosthesis outside. The penile implant consists of two multi-layer silicone cylinders connected with a silver wire.
Rigid penile implants are not used in modern medical centers. It is uncomfortable and lead to complications due to constant pressure on the penis tissues.
We install penile implant of leading world manufacturers with a lifetime warranty
In the Department of Urology at Sechenov University, the implantation of prosthesis is performed by doctors with surgical experience for at least 10 years.
The operation can be performed using two surgical approaches: through a small incision in the scrotum or pubic area. The advantages of the latter one are that there is less risk of complications and combined andrological operations are possible. For example, simultaneous penis-lengthening surgery is feasibly.
Hospitalization is for two days; a man can resume sexual intercourse by one and a half to two months after surgery.
Cost of a penile implant
We carry out the semirigid penile implants for Russian citizens free due to high-tech assistance channel. The cost of two- or three-piece inflatable penile prosthesis through paid medical services, including non-Russian citizens, is around 180 – 550 thousands rubles.
The Department of Urology at Sechenov University is the only one in the country that performs this high-tech operation
En-bloc laser enucleation is indicated for patients with non-muscle invasive bladder cancer - the muscle layer of the bladder wall is not affected. If the tumor has grown into deep tissues, a radical cystectomy (bladder removal) is performed.
The tumor is removed entirely without abdominal incision, under gentle anesthesia
Unlike transurethral resection of bladder tumor (TURB), when the cancerous formation is cut off in layers by electric loop, en-bloc surgery is cut off the tumor at the base at once. As a result, there is no bleeding, which can make it difficult for the surgeon to review during a TURB that the operation is stopped and hemostatic measures are taken.
The laser gently burns blood vessels and has a good hemostatic effect that on the eve of the operation you cannot cancel the blood thinning drugs for patients who have previously been getting a special therapy for the prevention of heart attack or stroke.
Laser surgery is less likely to recur
Probability of a relapse after transurethral resection of bladder tumor is 16% to 71% depending on the stage of the cancer. The cut-off fragments freely float in the bladder for some time, the mucous membrane can be absorbed, which leads to the new foci formation. The percentage of laser surgery complications has not been calculated yet, however early studies perform the significantly lower risk.
Laser eliminates injury due to obturator internus syndrome
Obturator internus syndrome is an involuntary movement of the leg when the electric loop touches the obturator nerve. Due to an unexpected sudden movement, the instrument can severely damage the bladder wall or lead to rupture. In the latter case, an urgent laparotomy (opening the abdominal cavity for suturing the bladder wall) is necessary.
En-bloc surgery helps to evaluate the tumor process for proper treatment
The decision to preserve or remove the organ is based on a size of the tumor and a depth of germination. MRI, which must be done on the eve of the operation, shows a conditionally accurate image. Real information can be perform with only morphological study. Morphologists study the tissue removed during the operation under a microscope. Therefore, a quality of the pieces is very important. Tumor must be removed with a thin layer of non-malignant tissue to ensure rid the body of tumor cells. The electric loop is too “rough”, so it is difficult for a morphologist to conclude that the tumor has been completely removed. Laser fiber is not thicker than a sewing needle; it separates high quality material easy.
Benefits of en-bloc surgery in compare with transurethral resection of bladder tumor:
- Better quality of morphological study
- Less bleeding and risk of injury during surgery
- Lower chance of recurrence and tumor progression
The surgery is performed with a new thulium laser without harming non-malignant tissues
The laser fiber separates tumor tissue like a knife, it makes delicate due to its size and physical properties. The technology is new, there are units of such operations in the world. Our doctors worked a lot to choose the right regimens and work out a methodology. Today we have this unique technology.
Laser surgery is similar to TURB in technical aspect. An instrument with a diameter of a ballpoint pen is passed through the urethra under gentle spinal anesthesia. We extract the removed tumor with special forceps through the endoscopic instrument. The catheter, which is installed at the end of the operation to remove urine, is removed after one day. Hospital stay is three days.
Cost of en-bloc resection of bladder tumor
We carry out en-bloc surgery for Russian citizens free due to high-tech assistance channel. Our doctors will help you fill out the necessary documents. The cost of en-bloc resection of bladder tumor through paid medical services, including non-Russian citizens, is around 90 thousands rubles.
Maximum effect to the stress urinary incontinence in women
Sling surgery helps to eliminate involuntary urine leakage using a special synthetic loop (sling), which is held under the urethra, and supports the urethra on the principle of a hammock. The loop helps the muscles and ligaments of the pelvis to hold the urethra at the time of tension, for example, during coughing or laughing.
The difference of TVT-O and TVT is in the method of laying the loop. In the first one, a more obtuse angle of the loop reduces the risk of excessive compression of the urethra.
The tactics of treatment of stress urinary incontinence is selected strictly individually in the Department of Urology at Sechenov University. It is based on a comprehensive urogynecological examination with the participation of relevant specialists of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sechenov University. In particular, the state of the genital organs and the rectum is examined, because of incontinence is often accompanied with prolapse.
The operation takes about 40 minutes. It is performed through 5 mm incisions in the groin area. The effectiveness of the urethra fixation is evaluated immediately after the installation of the loop. The doctor fills the patient's bladder with saline, and asks her to cough. With proper styling of the sling, no urine leaks occur.
If correction of the vaginal walls or other intervention is necessary, a complex operation is performed. At the same time, the normal topography of all pelvic organs is restored.
The sling operation is completed by installing a catheter through which urine is expelled. A gauze pad may be placed in the vagina to prevent possible minor bleeding. The catheter and pad are removed at the next day after surgery.
The advantages of sling surgery are minimal invasiveness and the absence of postoperative pain. The patient returns home at the next day.
Quick extraction of stones, which have any composition, density and size
Stones fragmentation in direct contact with a laser fiber is named contact laser lithotripsy. The approach is chosen according to the location and size of the formations. Small ureter and kidney stones can be removed without any incisions through the urethra by the method of retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS).
Stones larger than a centimeter in the kidney and the upper third of the ureter are more convenient and faster to remove through a small incision in the lumbar region directly above the projection of the kidney. The method is known as percutaneous nephrolithotripsy (PNLT).
Contraindications for contact laser lithotripsy: acute purulent processes (prostatitis, pyelonephritis, etc.), general serious condition.
We remove the stones in a specialized X-ray endoscopic operating room «Siemens»
We use PCNL and RIRS in combination with the latest generation holmium or thulium lasers. Laser actually "evaporates" the stone - all fragments of the liquid leave it, the crystal lattice collapses. A large stone need to be fragmented into tiny pieces, and the small one may be fragmented into grains of sand. Then the fragments are removed with baskets through the endoscope, the sand goes out independently with the urine.
We select the optimal fragmentation mode for each type of stone
The frequency and power of laser radiation is selected according to the density and composition of the stone. The operation takes around an hour and a half.
RIRS is performed under general anesthesia (endotracheal anesthesia), but spinal anesthesia is possible. The urinary tract is drained by an internal stent, which does not interfere in everyday life. It is removed after two weeks under local anesthesia through the urethra without hospitalization. Discharged is on the next day after surgery without restrictions in physical activity.
Anesthesia for PNLT is always general. The urinary tract is drained by an external nephrostomy tube, which comes from the lumbar region. X-ray is performed for 3-4 days after the operation, and then the tube is removed. Discharged from a hospital is on the next day.
Our clinic was the first in the world, which held RIRH in a gas (CO2) environment
The irrigation solutions used by other clinics is associated with a number of adverse effects. There are infectious-inflammatory complications, a long operation time, not always a good endoscopic picture due to bleeding and stone suspension during fragmentation with the liquid. In the gaseous environment, the scattering of stones does not occur - the surgeon is easier to operate, because there is good endoscopic visibility.
We have developed a system for the proper prevention of stone formation
Surgical treatment removes the product of urolithiasis, but can not eliminate the cause. Therefore, the removed stones are subjected to X-ray isotope analysis. Having determined its composition, we understand what a metabolic disorder or a disease leads to the deposition of salts in the form of a stone. We assign the special diet to remove stone-forming substances from the body. If it is necessary, we assign additional examinations. Fractures of the pelvis and spine, changes in the urinary tract, infections and many other diseases can affect stone formation. When the cause is established, we conduct a comprehensive personalized therapy aimed at combating a specific disease or condition leading to stone formation.
Cost of laser removal of stones - free due to channel high-tech medical care
Our doctors will help you fill out the necessary documents for obtaining a federal quota. The cost of PCNL through the paid medical services is 100 thousand rubles. RIRS is a new technology, so the price is not formed.
Our clinic has the best experience at reconstructive surgeries, annually 250 patients with hydro- and ureterohydronephrosis undergo the treatment
Laparoscopic reconstruction of the ureter and pelvis replaced open surgery. The new manual does not have blood loss, does not leave postoperative sutures. The hospital stay is not more then 4 - 6 days.
It is indicated in group of patients up to 65 years with the pelvic-ureteric junction stenosis, hydronephrosis.
Bilateral hydronephrosis and the threat of renal failure are absolute indications for the surgery
Laproscopic pyeloplasty is the most effective in the absence of significant expansion cups and intact kidney function.
Surgical intervention is not necessary in elderly patients in the case of normal function of the second kidney, stable function of the diseased kidney, as well as high operational and anesthetic risks.
In Department of Urology at Sechenov University laproscopic pyeloplasty is performed by MD with surgical experience more then 20 years
The most difficult stage is the formation of ureteropyelostomy, the correct connection of the pelvis and ureter after surgical removal of the narrowed area and the extended, non-contractible part of the pelvis. In order to create an airtight and functional fistula between the organs, from 12 to 20 (and sometimes more) sutures are applied with a thin, hair-like, suture absorbable material.
Microsurgical accuracy is ensured by modern endoscopic equipment Karl Storz, as well as wide-format optics Hopkins II.
The urine flow bypasses the healing zone, so a special drainage is installed in the upper urinary tract. In our clinic, polyurethane stents by a Danish company СOOK are used. It allow to create elastic and atraumatic curls for fixing the stent in the kidney and bladder. With that catheter, the patient can lead a normal life. Drainage is removed after a month under local anesthesia.
Due to the fact that the muscles of the pelvic organs are relaxed by anesthesia and can not for some time ensure the urine flow, just before surgery another drainage is brought into the bladder - a simple catheter. It is also needed to control the amount of urine excreted.
At the end of the operation, a third insurance drainage is established in the intervention zone. Wound discharge (mucus and blood residues) flows through it.
Insurance drainage and urethral catheter is removed after 2-3 days.
The operation time depends on the individual anatomical features and the condition of the patient's upper urinary tract. As a rule, laparoscopic plastic of the pelvic-ureteric segment takes about 2 hours. The patient is under endotracheal anesthesia, his respiratory function is supported by an anesthetic apparatus.
Cost of pyeloplasty – free for Russian citizens due to channel high-tech medical care
The cost of operation through paid medical services is around 130 thousands rubles. It is less than in other Russian and foreign urological departments.
Nano-Knife is a unique treatment method for prostate cancer with Irreversible Electroporation. It allows you to treat prostate cancer effectively in the early stages of the disease in one day with minimal risk of complications.
In most cases, it is possible to preserve the erectile function. Other types of operations affect the erectile function even with nerve- and vessel-saving surgery.
The method allows to treat patients who are denied surgery due to the proximity of the tumor to important anatomical structures. When a tumor is located in difficult accessible and problematic places: pancreas and prostate gland, liver, abdomen, kidneys.
It is used to treat primary and secondary tumors, recurrences.
Only a limited number of medical centers, which are actively introducing new technologies in the medicine, have the opportunity to perform an operation using this tool. Department of Urology at Sechenov University is the only one clinic, which has this opportunity in our country.
«Irreversible Electroporation is a new impressive method of treatment. The tumor is destroyed at the cellular level, the technique is safe for vessels, nerves and other large anatomical structures. By offering the Nano-Knife, we offer our patients the highest class technology with safety and efficacy, which are unattainable by other methods of treatment», - Dmitry Enikeev, MD.
Principle of action of Nano-Knife
The several needles are positioned around the tumor, high-voltage impulses are emitted through this one. Before a surgery, the doctor calculates the exact number of electrodes needed according to the size and characteristics of the tissue. Strong electric fields cause cells death and cell membranes destruction, after that it is absorbed by the body’s immune system.
The operation lasts about one and a half hours with general endotracheal anesthesia. Upon completion, a bandage is applied to the wound (in the perineal zone), a catheter is inserted into the bladder. Urination is restored on day 5, the catheter is removed and the patient is discharged home. The effectiveness of treatment is evaluated after 3 months with the serum PSA level.
Benefits of Nano-Knife
Unlike other minimally invasive techniques, such as radiofrequency ablation, cryoablation, microwave ablation and HIFU, irreversible electroporation does not generate heat. There are no side effects associated with changes in tissue temperature.
In the case of localized prostate cancer (not going beyond the prostate), irreversible electroporation may be an alternative to surgical (radical prostatectomy) or radiation therapy, which can led to erection dysfunction, incontinence, inflammation of the rectum.
Other advantages of the technique are:
- minimal invasiveness (several needles need puncture for the operation);
- lack of heat exposure;
- short hospital stay;
- short recovery time;
- operation is painless in comparison with other methods of ablation.
Safety of Nano-Knife
Nano-Knife is considered the safest method of treating prostate cancer: an electrical impulse effectively destroys tumor tissues without harming the surrounding tissues. The technology has passed the safety certification of the European Union and the American FDA.
LAPAROSCOPIC PARTIAL NEPHRECTOMY: radical treatment of kidney cancer (tumor) with organ conservation
Academician Alyaev, the head of the clinic, is the founder of kidney resection in our country
Remove cancer, saving the kidney, perhaps in the most cases. The exception is the tumors, which have grown into the "heart" of the body, where the vital vessels and elements of the cup-pelvis-plating system are located.
Unlike conventional resection, laparoscopic surgery does not require a large abdominal incision. The tumor of the kidney is removed through a centimeter incision on the front wall of the abdomen.
Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy - benefit for patients
Both kidneys are saved. There are less life risks, easier to tolerate subsequent diseases from which no one is insured, some types of treatment (for example, chemotherapy).
Laparoscopic partial nephrectomy should be performed whenever it is technically possible, but without increasing cancer risk. If there is a probability of preserving part of the cancer cells, then the kidney is removed, in this case a nephrectomy is performed. The only normal kidney fully compensates for the absence of the opposite one; renal failure is not occur.
Absolute indications include tumor in the setting of solitary kidney, or in patients with compromised renal function
The operation has an excellent oncological, functional and aesthetic result in the removal of tumors up to five centimeters. In some cases, when the cancer grows outside, not inside the organ, it is possible to remove the tumor, which the size is more than ten centimeters.
We try to treat cancer and save the kidney even in the most difficult situations
We perform 3D modeling of the organ for each patient.
Virtual model based on high-precision images of multislice computed tomography (MSCT) helps to evaluate arterial and venous kidney collectors, other features of the structure of organs and tumor development. It is necessary to find and clamp quickly the arterial vessel feeding the kidney segment with a tumor node. As a result, the normal part of the kidney does not suffer from oxygen deficiency. This is extremely important because it reduces the time of warm ischemia (hypoxia). The kidney tolerates warm ischemia for around 30 – 40 minutes with complete functional recovery During laparoscopic partial nephrectomy in our clinic, warm ischemia lasts no more than 20 minutes, also we perform the operation without clamping the renal blood flow (zero-ischemia) using our advanced intraparenchymal (intrarenal) clipping and electrocoagulation technique. The blood loss is less than 100 ml.
The operation takes about 2 hours. It ends with the installation of insurance drainage through which the post-wound fluid flows (lymph, blood residues). Insurance drainage is removed after 1-2 days.
Cost of laparoscopic partial nephrectomy – free to Russian citizens
We carry out laparoscopic partial nephrectomy due to high-tech assistance channel (quotas). Usually, there are no problem with obtaining quotas. Our doctors will help you fill out the necessary documents. The cost of operation through paid medical services is around 130 thousands rubles.
